While searching for quotations for the Monthly Peace Challenge, I noticed how many wise and inspiring quotations came from blogging friends’ posts and comments. So I’ve started a new series called BBQ—Beautiful Blog Quotations.
Feel free to join the fun.

I love this quotation from Broadblogs.com blogger, Georgia Platts. It took me a few reads to figure out it wasn’t a typo, but when I finally got the message, it hit me like a left hook. As a survivor of abuse, I have definitely hurt people. Part of my drive towards peace and compassion stems from guilt from hurting so many others in my past. What really strikes me about this quotation is the compassion it cultivates for both those who hurt and those who are hurt.
If you haven’t dropped by Broadblogs.com, treat yourself to some sexy politics that will transform your views towards men, women, sex, beauty, and media.
Thank you for reading, smiling, and/or sharing.
Have you hurt others due to past hurt? Please share.

I have too. It gives me compassion for those who have hurt me and helps me to forgive them.
Great idea to quote bloggers. There is much wisdom out here. I used to think about how much wisdom we miss looking to big stories and famous folks. Could be missing someone sitting right next to us. 🙂
Much peace –
Laurie
Yeah, Laurie. There are so many wise and inspiring bloggers, why do we need to look beyond our community? Yay, for compassion. {{{Hugs]}} Kozo
I love this idea! Can’t wait to do a BBQ post! 😀

Join the fun, Kelly. Can’t wait to see your BBQ post. {{{hugs}}} Kozo
Beautiful quote and your idea is very nice. Some take lessons from the people who hurt others and try not to hurt.
Good point, Indira. I think becoming aware of this trend is key. When we realize that we hurt others because we were hurt, then we can heal and stop hurting others. {{{hugs]}} Kozo
My original blog posted inspiring quotations daily. If you go to ManyLittleDrops.wordpress.com, click on MindMindful category you’ll find loads of them (search term: Mindfulness Moment)
Love inspiring quotations, Shala. Just want to share the inspiration of other bloggers. {{{hugs}}} kozo
Yet another great idea, Kozo! For me, the above quote is a wonderful illustration of why compassion may be the most powerful gift we have. With compassion, all judgment is aside, which eliminates the bad/good of duality, and what is left is an experience. Of course, this is quite difficult to maintain but what a world if we did…..BBQ is truly a wonderful idea, Kozo. Thanks, my friend.
Karen
Yes, compassion is key, Karen. The quotation also reminds us to be compassionate with ourselves. We may have hurt others, but we shouldn’t beat ourselves up about it eternally, especially if we were hurt. So much wisdom in four words. {{{hugs}}} Kozo
who can resist BBQ – of any kind. 🙂
I love how the acronym came out, Sunshine. {{{hugs]}} Koz
you so smart, like that. 🙂
Thanks for quoting from a comment I made, Kozo! I’m pretty sure that I first heard this from Bill Cosby. He may have gotten it from someone else. Good one to pass on, for the reasons you give.
In my memory, you said it first Georgia. 🙂 Thanks for sharing your wisdom on everydaygurus. {{{hugs]}} Kozo
Beautiful way to recognize the sheer power of words, thoughts…expression.

I’ve been looking for them in my reader, but so far it looks like only you and Live Out Loud have done yours. I’ll try to get one out sometime next week. I’m going to reblog this today to help get the word out too. You just keep having great ideas. Blessings to you and yours.
Thanks, D.S. It might take a while to catch on, but I really believe that we need to spread blogger wisdom to make the world a better place. 🙂 {{{hugs]}} Kozo
