Monthly Peace Challenge–Peace Begins with a Letter

banner

It’s been six months since we started Bloggers for Peace. I don’t know about you, but I feel more at peace today than I have in my whole life. I know in my heart of hearts that the ripples of peace we are sending out are affecting all sentient beings. I also know that “we who believe in freedom cannot rest,” so here is a {{{hug}}} for all you’ve done and all that you will do.

To help inspire the Bloggers for Peace (B4Peace), we will have a Monthly Peace Challenge. To participate, tag your post with B4Peace and make sure you copy your URL to the Linkz collection. Anyone who completes all twelve Monthly Peace Challenges will receive a Free B4Peace T-shirt.

I have always loved writing and receiving letters. There is something intimate and sacred about letters. Whenever they show someone writing a letter to the President or receiving a letter from the President in a movie, I cry–Saving Private Ryan being a prime example.

For this month’s peace challenge, I encourage you to write a letter for peace and send it out into the Universe. You may not get an answer, but you will make a difference. Here are some suggestions.

  • Write a letter to a person in power, past or present. Let them know what you feel about the state of the world under their control. Here is a great example from a teenage girl in Pakistan: People Aren’t Made For Slaughter. Cattle Are..
  • Write a letter to God, the Universe, Jesus, Buddha, Allah, or any other spiritual leader. One of my favorite books is Conversations with God, which consists of a series of letters to and from God. Feel free to have your spiritual leader answer your letter.
  • Write an epistolary story that explores peace.
  • Write a letter you would like to receive from peace.
  • Post a photo, video, story, or piece of art that explores the intersection of writing and peace.
  • Do a stream of conscious letter to anyone. Rant, scream, cry, and/or swear for peace. This might be best done with a pen and transcribed or scanned into your post.
  • Since this challenge is about letters and peace, anything you do will meet the challenge.

Thank you for reading, sharing, and/or smiling.

I came to Word Press with this mentality already.

Then you know that power of letters, Archita. I can’t wait to read the letter you write. I would love to see a stream of conscious writing that channels a higher power, ala Neil Walsch.

Cool idea Kozo! My first band when I was 15 was called The Epistolary hehe. I’ll see what I can come up with for this month’s challenge 🙂

    Hugs!

    Rohan.

    • Kozo Hattori says:

      Rohan,
Your coolness never ceases to amaze me. The Epistolary, what a great name for a band. Did you write songs that were letters? I love Pink’s song “Dear Mr. President.”

Can’t wait to see your post.

I already had this sort of thing in my mind Kozo. Funny how much we think alike at times. I have the perfect song. I just hope nobody else uses it but if they do, maybe I will take a different spin on it. HUGS!

Hey Kozo, can’t believe B4Peace is 6 mo. fresh, we’re just getting started! Love the inspirational music, and Pink’s song is bad-ass! I really hope it reaches our pres’ ears and makes a difference. Thank you for making a difference in our lives and shifting the universal outcome of our collective consciousness, very cool.
Re: that teenage girl from Pakistan, no judgement but… do people really not see the microcosmic correlation? “Fate, it seems, is not without a sense of irony” – Morpheus

    • Kozo Hattori says:

I’m not sure if it is because I’m on a blogging break, but I’m missing the microcosmic correlations in regards to Pakistan. I do, however, love the Morpheus quote. Enlighten me, Trinity, if you have time. {{{hugs]} Kozo

    • I try to blog for peace at least once a week. The peace movement is growing and people are speaking out. I loved the videos. Many blessings and inner peace to all. Hugs, Barbara
