Wouldn’t it be great if Peace went Viral?

Sent this tweet this morning, but then I went to check out #Peace and found that most tweets about peace looked like this:

https://twitter.com/tomfun9/status/283889042934878208

This reminds me of when Bono, the lead singer of the band U2, introduced U2’s cover of the song “Helter Skelter”: “This is a song Charles Manson stole from the Beatles; we’re stealing it back.” I say we steal #Peace back.

Peace has become a hollow word detached from feeling. We hear it every day, especially during the holiday season, but it never causes us to stop, think, or do something.

Bloggers for Peace have decided to do something. We are devoting the next year to delving into Peace and putting Our Heart back into this idea.

Personally, I have decided to put my money where my mouth is. Every month I will post a Monthly Peace Challenge (Kinda like the Daily Press Weekly Challenge). If you sign up for Bloggers for Peace and complete all twelve challenges, I will send you a FREE Bloggers for Peace T-Shirt. Talks are still underway about who will design the shirt, but Rarasaur, Cinna from the Hunger Games, and David Choe are on the short list.

For those of you angels on the internet who have already signed up for Bloggers for Peace, please tag your posts B4Peace.

Please be patient with me as I catch up on reading posts. My Reader has started to look like a Justin Bieber twitter feed with all the new bloggers. I’ll come visit soon; I promise. If you are on twitter, please find me @everydaygurus. Once I follow you, I can get your articles from twitter as soon as you post them.

Thank you for reading, sharing, and/or smiling.

What would you put on a B4Peace t-shirt? Please share.

What I would put on a B4Peace t-shirt: World Peace starts here

    • Kozo says:

Perfect, Shala. We could even have an arrow pointing to our heart. Definitely in the running for B4Peace design.

      • MindMindful says:

Haha! I like the arrow:) It’s only one of many ways to create that peace though — I’m looking forward to the ideas of others……… something humorous would be FAB.

  2. Sunshine says:

Let us think it a done deal…peace is here. #B4Peace! 🙂

  3. Professions for PEACE says:

Keep up the great work at shining love and light and peace out into the world!! Let’s all work (play?!) together as we share our passion for peace. May we all enjoy peace. Now.

    • Kozo says:

I love the idea of playing for peace. Bloggers for Peace should be fun, exciting, and enjoyable. Why not? It “so simpo.” Peace is fun. Love it, Gina.

  4. Definitely up for the challenge, I think I already signed up and it’s something I am looking forward to be doing.

I’d have this quote from Mother Teresa:”Peace begins with a smile” on the T-shirt. Smiling always works 🙂

  5. I have the badge on my blog with the link to your peace post. Looking forward to it.

    • Kozo says:

Thanks, Esperanza. Keep an eye out for the Monthly Peace Challenge. Hopefully, they will give you some fresh ideas.
Let me know if you have any suggestions.

  6. diannegray says:

I love the idea of a monthly ‘peace’ challenge 🙂 I haven’t had time to do a post yet – but will when I get home next week 😀

    • Kozo says:

No problem, Dianne. Technically, it doesn’t start until 2013.
When you say home, do you mean the farm or back in the city?

      • diannegray says:

We’re in the city now and will be heading back to the farm. It gets a little confusing! We leave tomorrow to travel the long road again, this time taking our two dogs in the car who haven’t traveled before – so that should be an interesting experience! 😉

      • Kozo says:

        Travel safe.
P.S. Adam from “RighttoBitch” blog just bought The Eleventh Question on Kindle. He and I had a comment exchange on how amazing you are. Hope your ears weren’t burning too badly. 🙂

      • diannegray says:

Oh – I didn’t know that, he hasn’t said anything. I wondered why my ears were burning 😉 You’ve made my day! **blushing**

  7. Tracy says:

“Peace. Just do it!” I suspect Nike might not like this…. or maybe they would and they’d sponsor us 😉

If not we could change it to “Peace. Let’s do it!”

Lets do it 🙂 Lots of ❤ to you Kozo, from me and my Dad!

    • Kozo says:

Love it, Tracy. Both slogans have power. I like tapping into the ubiquitous swoosh corporation, but I also like the community nature of “Let’s do it!”
I wonder if Nike will print us some t-shirts if we make a swoosh/peace logo? haha.
{{{Group Hug}}} with you and your wonderful Dad.

  8. Here’s a B4Peace idea: “Peace. My Best Accessory!”

  9. eof737 says:

It has … Did you miss the One Billion Focused on Peace event? It went viral on twitter and millions joined in via satellite for a meditation… You were in attendance, right? 🙂

    • eof737 says:

I’ve been thinking about Bloggers for Peace and we can make this a universal movement if we expand its reach at a common community site. The Facebook page is a great starting point and I would suggest that the badge link to the Facebook page and we can contribute and collaborate on projects and ideas there. I have some other ideas and we can chat more about it. The One Billion Focused on Peace event was phenomenal and there is much we can learn from it… Are you open to exploring these options? I’m excited! Lets chat. 🙂

      • Kozo says:

Thank you, thank you, thank you, Eliz. I could not get online for the One Billion Focused on Peace but I did meditate on peace during that time. I’m not very Facebook savvy and I just got on twitter, so any help would be appreciated.
I will change the badge link to the facebook page.
Frankly, Eliz, I will do anything you say because you have been at this while I was still chasing waves and bikinis. You and God inspired this project, so there is no way I’m going to pull the reigns out of your hands.
Feel free to email me, tweet me, and slap me upside the head. haha.
        I AM SO EXCITED.
Have to feed the kids; I will be back in a few hours.

      • eof737 says:

        OMG!!! You are way too funny… and I’m not that ancient! 😆 I agree this is God inspired! You took the next step after our FOCUS:PEACE event, Rarasaur helped create the badge and peace loving bloggers rallied around it. Lets make this shine as global collaborators. My heart is in it. Blessings }}

      • Kozo says:

If your heart is in it, its going to shine, Eliz. I am your humble servant.
        P.S. I stole the bow html from Rarasaur. I’m such a swiper.</bow >

      • eof737 says:

My God!!! We need to watch you closely! 😆

      • Kozo says:

LOL, Eliz. The bow symbols didn’t even show up because the comments thought they were html. I’ve been using these symbols for days, not knowing that they never show up. People must have thought I was delusional when I mentioned the “bow html.” Here is what the comment was suppose to look like:
<bow > If your heart is in it, its going to shine, Eliz. I am your humble servant.</bow >
P.S. I stole the bow html from Rarasaur. I’m such a swiper.

      • eof737 says:

I’ll look at it again. Cool! 🙂

  11. I would have B4 inside the shape of a jigsaw puzzle piece– then have the word “peace” next to that. since…if you think about it we are all different parts coming together in the harmony of peace and making our own master piece!!! Do ya like?

  23. Rufina says:

Looking forward to your Monthly Peace Challenges as well… (How are you possibly going to keep up with all the reading?? I think you will soon need several assistants…;)

    • Kozo says:

You got that right, Rufina. I’m finding it hard to just keep up with the B4Peace reading, much less post my own posts, read my friends’ blogs, or write my novel. But like I said in your other comment, I can feel a change from all the peace posts. I feel more at peace in my heart and in my life.
      P.S.
I just posted a Monthly Peace Post for February. Can’t wait to see your contribution. {{{Hugs]}} Kozo
